Now We're Really Cooking

The outdoor kitchen work continued through the holidays with the framing, electrical, plumbing, and counters being completed.
The breakfast bar was poured.Decorative tiles that Shelly picked out were put in place.The iron doors to the cabinets were installed.The countertops were sealed and the double stainless steel sink was installed.
The appliances and drawers were installed - look at the full size stove/oven (yippee...no more trailer stove!)It is finished and we absolutely LOVE it!!!PJ is cooking his famous deep fried jalapenos in soy sauce to test out the kitchen.Shelly and Hunter are ready for dinner guests.

    Your outdoor kitchen set up looks absolutely great, and love your arsty take on the details. Not sure about getting too OCD about the dust - it will make you nuts, I'm proof. Got to grin (grit?) and bear it evenutally, but then, got water? Got time? I'd be out there all day. :)

Please Help

We are beginning the clean up process and it will be long and difficult. But everyone (even those who lost everything and we mean EVERYTHING) are in good spirits. This is the bridge that we walk over every morning with Hunter. This is in the Ranchitos just a few blocks from where we live. We are part of a group who are spearheading getting relief aid to those areas hit the hardest. These areas had a wall of water over 10' high go through their communities resulting in several feet of mud being distributed into their modest homes. The loss of their mattresses, all furniture, clothing, linens, food, etc. In addition these areas do not have drinking water easily available. They are resorting to collecting water from the still flowing creeks that more than likely have dead animals in them contaminating the water....but what other options do they have? NONE. This is an old folks home where the residents had to climb a rickety ladder and spend the night on the roof to escape the rushing

Feels Like Summer

The day time temps have been in the 90s this week with the lows getting only into the 60s. It makes for a beautiful day to take out a friend's yacht and spot Finback whales. If this is a preview of temps this summer, we are in big (and we mean brutally hot but tons of fun) trouble.
