Colorado June 30 - July 6

Our 9th anniversary was on the 30th so we checked into The Ritz Carlton in downtown Denver to celebrate. We walk all of downtown Denver, acting like regular tourists and PJ serenades Shelly (no, really he does another retirement dance) in the room.We head back to Timnath Lake via a visit to the Guinness World record holder largest liquor store - Daveco. PJ has his first Rocky Mountain Oysters (deep fried bull balls - yes, these are a specialty in Colorado and on most diner menus). As you can see from the photo below, PJ was very concerned about losing his balls but he was assured that his did not meet the minimum standard. On the 4th, all residents of the lake joined in a boat parade where the goal is to circle the lake multiple times and make as many LARGE waves as you can so the other boats can jump them (causing more waves). Shelly's dad did an extraordinary job of this and Shelly was sore for two days from hanging on. We watched fireworks from several cities from the top of the ATV hill. The dogs continued to play nonstop and even jumped into the lake on their own and continued their play in the water. PJ did yet another retirement dance on a friend's boat.On Saturday night, some neighbors built a huge bonfire. Unfortunately it was so hot that you couldn't get close enough to roast your Rice Krispy treats (a trick we learned from Shelly's nephews). We are headed back to the cabin.

Yes, this is starting to seem like we need to change the name to just PJ's Adventures but we promise you that Shelly hasn't left PJ (yet...) and there will be more photos of her in future posts. Someone has to man the camera otherwise you wouldn't have the laughs (at PJ's expense) you are having, right?
