Colorado June 13 - 29

We leave the cabin and head for Shelly's dad in Aurora, CO where we have internet service and feel connected to the world again. We appreciate the time at the cabin where we didn't have it though and realize this made us slow down and find other activities to keep us occupied. It is warmer here than in the mountains and we enjoy wearing less clothing. There are thunderstorms and lightning about every other day and we love watching and listening to these.
We drive to Timnath Lake which is located just South of Ft. Collins (and in an area labeled tornado alley) where Shelly's dad has an improved lake front lot with their RV, boat, and ATVs there.
There are millions of mosquitoes but thankfully they are not developed enough to bite yet and it is weird having them swarm around you. We ride in the boat and on the ATVs. We drive to Windsor where a tornado hit on May 22nd and view the devastating damage. We take the dogs in the boat and Shelly gets Hunter to jump off the boat to swim and fetch a ball after much coaxing by Shelly and a lot of barking and whining by Hunter.Back at the house Shelly's dads dog, Magen (a goldendoodle) finally gets Hunter to play. Hunter who doesn't like other dogs but must have finally been pawed and chewed on enough by Magen to reciprocate the actions. Shelly's dads backyard is like the Disneyland of backyards with a huge Koi pond, waterfall, lights, tiki torches, etc. and we love sitting out there in evenings when it has cooled down a little and just relaxing.

We have a wine party dinner with the neighbors, go to an outdoor concert in a park (and get rained on), go to the Colorado Historical Museum, PJ sees a Rockies baseball game, Shelly sees Sex and The City at a theater that serves alcohol and food during the movie, go to the lake again, start to take daily walks again at the various parks in the area, and take the light rail to downtown Denver to party. Shelly's dad and step mom go to the lake again and we opt not to. It is our first time to be alone and have time to ourselves and we laze around not doing anything.

PJ finally declares that he feels retired and does a little retirement dance
and Shelly has stopped counting the Mondays that she is not having to go to work - life is great!!!
