Missed by Hurricane Norbert

Hurricane Norbert made landfall on the mainland about 8 pm last night and about 75 miles South of us. We had very little effects from it. It lightly rained for about 10 minutes yesterday afternoon, there was some cloud cover, and then this morning it is cooler with a strong breeze. We spent last night enjoying a beachside concert by Mark Mulligan, our local Jimmy Buffet, and watching the amazing sunset.Upon returning home, we had another little visitor. We still have not been able to identify this one but he looked awfully scary.

Building UP

 We decided to bite the bullet and join the development craze here, lol. Building a great room on top of the casita. Will give us a place to hang 'together' while we are reading, crafting, stretching, watching TV and an indoor space to eat meals when it is very windy here. Plus Shelly can see the water from here and see if it is a good paddle day. They had to remove the top of the deck railing to attach the new bricks. The workers are FAST! This giant crane had to be brought in to hoist the concrete girders up to the ceiling. The roof will be poured tomorrow. The roof was poured today. More photos to come, check back... Quite a bit of work has been done since we left. The power lines have been cut out and lines will be laid before the tile goes down. The tiles are going in!! Painting and windows later this week with completion next week. Tile is in, needs grout. Windows going in!!! Door installed tomorrow. Hiking Adventures 2022

 It's another year to tackle hillsides that I haven't before and revisit those I love.  The first hike of the season was to a granite cliff in Rancho Nacapule. We can't quite make it to the highest point of the cliff so we continue to an arch behind this cliff that we have hiked to before. This time we approached it from a different direction.  We then veer off and get a little further away from the vehicle than we intended. PJ was on alert that he may have to come get us. In the end we make it all the way back to our vehicle and boy are we tired. There are bike trails across from the Estuary that we have been wanting to see if they are also good hiking trails. And they are, plus look at these views. There is an entire point area in Guaymas that we haven't checked out. We head out searching for El Carricito. Access is via a rough 4-wheel drive dirt road to a beautiful bay that we'll have to come back to to paddleboard at. Looking for other hiking opportunities in th...

Overnight on the boat

It's a great looking day on the water, headed up the coast to Ensenada Grande for an overnighter Look at these cliffs! Time to explore on my paddleboard.  Made it to the end of the cave.  I then paddled me and PJ on my board to the shore for an afternoon walk. Sunset toast! Stunning!!!! Morning sunrise. And PJ is fishing!
