Our departure from California

We left our hood around 9:30 am a little hung over (after two nights of parties - the one above is from Friday night), with a lot of tears, and still in this surreal state as 'we are really doing this'. We had a wonderful going away party last night (Saturday) hosted by our great neighbor and friend, Carrie. We are so thankful to everyone who came to our party to see us off and wish us well. While it was sad saying goodbye, we will keep in touch and we hope to have lots of visitors once we get settled in San Carlos. We spent last night sleeping on our cots in the living room of our other great neighbors and friends; Bob, Sue & Casey. It was saying goodbye to these two wonderful neighbors and friends that it hit us that we are really leaving. Then we drove away from Buccaneer Court, San Juan Capistrano, Orange County, and then California.

We drove to Richfield, UT and spent the night in a hotel (sneaking Hunter in with us). The drive through Arizona and Utah was gorgeous. We opened a great bottle of wine (after frantically searching for a wine opener and then asking the front desk, an adjacent restaurant, and all the other guests in the hotel for one and finally got one) and toasted to the rest of our lives. We are totally exhausted physically, mentally, and emotionally so we are off to bed early.

Building UP

 We decided to bite the bullet and join the development craze here, lol. Building a great room on top of the casita. Will give us a place to hang 'together' while we are reading, crafting, stretching, watching TV and an indoor space to eat meals when it is very windy here. Plus Shelly can see the water from here and see if it is a good paddle day. They had to remove the top of the deck railing to attach the new bricks. The workers are FAST! This giant crane had to be brought in to hoist the concrete girders up to the ceiling. The roof will be poured tomorrow. The roof was poured today. More photos to come, check back... Quite a bit of work has been done since we left. The power lines have been cut out and lines will be laid before the tile goes down. The tiles are going in!! Painting and windows later this week with completion next week. Tile is in, needs grout. Windows going in!!! Door installed tomorrow. Hiking Adventures 2022

 It's another year to tackle hillsides that I haven't before and revisit those I love.  The first hike of the season was to a granite cliff in Rancho Nacapule. We can't quite make it to the highest point of the cliff so we continue to an arch behind this cliff that we have hiked to before. This time we approached it from a different direction.  We then veer off and get a little further away from the vehicle than we intended. PJ was on alert that he may have to come get us. In the end we make it all the way back to our vehicle and boy are we tired. There are bike trails across from the Estuary that we have been wanting to see if they are also good hiking trails. And they are, plus look at these views. There is an entire point area in Guaymas that we haven't checked out. We head out searching for El Carricito. Overnight on the boat

It's a great looking day on the water, headed up the coast to Ensenada Grande for an overnighter Look at these cliffs! Time to explore on my paddleboard.  Made it to the end of the cave.  I then paddled me and PJ on my board to the shore for an afternoon walk. Sunset toast! Stunning!!!! Morning sunrise. And PJ is fishing!
