We've Been Here and There

There is karaoke several places in town on most nights of the week. Our friend Omar, who is an extraordinary pianist, got PJ to participate one night. Shelly carved out the holes and painted this ceramic adobe candle holder. It is a fantastic outdoor table centerpiece.
Shelly also made these shades for the casita (the fabric was a steal at a garage sale).
PJ decided that the 5000 liter water holding cistern needing to be cleaned out. So we turned off the incoming water until it got to about 1" deep and he went in with a wet vac to clean out the sediment. We moved the camper to a new location next to the garage so we can create a BBQ area adjacent to the trailer and the casita. We traveled South to Alamos for the silver festival. The festival was a bust but we stayed in a very quaint bed & breakfast. Carnival was once again the main attraction last week. A bigger and better parade than last year.PJ made his way to an elevated dance floor after several cocktails to dance with the locals.PJ planted a small garden with corn and tomatoes. Sweet corn is unheard of here but we got seeds from a friend that are supposed to be Iowa sweet corn. PJ has 24 plants coming up. We participated in the Fun Run again this year but this year we tackled the 10k walk and we made it. We will probably be sore tomorrow but it was worth it.
