Shopping

We visited the Walmart, Sams Club, Costco, and Home Depot in Hermosillo this last weekend. It was very difficult to find the Home Depot as everyone was telling us it was next to the Walmart but there are two Walmarts in Hermosillo (of which we didn't know until late in the day).

The Walmart seemed comparable in price to the supermarkets we frequent in Guaymas. Some things were more expensive while others were not. Very little if none sporting, automotive, boating, or RV items.

The Costco was very similar with the availability of nuts, dog food, cheeses, vitamins, juices, fruits, veggies, and meats, etc. It is a little more expensive than the United States, i.e., cashews are $11.99 in the States versus $13.50 in Mexico. The pre-made, fresh meals are all Mexican themed; empanadas, stuffed green chiles, pozole, etc. They have the same hot dogs, pizza, and soft serve ice cream in the food court as the States.
