Another Round of Ticks for Hunter

Image
They're back.....they seem to have been hatched after our recent rain storm. This is the size of the ones we were removing last month. We removed a couple dozen from Hunter last night and found a couple dozen more on his bed. At least they are easy to pull off of Hunter. Hunter has had quite the summer. We had to take him to the vet for his annual parvo/distemper/bortadella shots. The bortadella vaccine down here is drops that the vet inserts into the dog's nose. Of course Hunter was going to have nothing to do with this even after we put a muzzle on him and covered his eyes. It was then suggested that we try to insert the liquid into his mouth. After all the attempts at his nose.....nope, he wasn't going to have anything to do with this either. Kennel cough isn't real prevalent down here and there is treatment if a dog gets it so we'll hope for the best. Hunter is also suffering from some type of heat rash; bumps under his legs near his armpits. These went away whe

The Floors are Poured

The floor of the trailer pad and porch are poured (this guy is tamping the dirt down prior to the concrete being poured) and textured (note how they use the end of a broom to create the wave pattern in the concrete). We had to have Hunter walk across a corner to imprint his paws forever. The stairs are finished. This horny toad was on our lot (a good luck charm we think).

Yecora

We wanted a mountain fix; cooler weather and green terrain so we headed to Yecora with some friends as we were told this was the spot to go. We stop for gas and supply the attendant with our step stool so he can wash the windows. We then forget this step stool behind and after driving about 2 miles have to turn around to hopefully retrieve it. We make a u-turn on a green light (not a green arrow) with our friends following us and are stopped by the police. We are told that we made an illegal u-turn and that our friend almost caused an accident during their turn - tickets for both of us. After some discussion we are sent on our way to retrieve our step stool without getting a ticket but our friend is going to get one. We leave and while we are gone our friend slips a mordida to the cop and we are on our way without either of us getting a ticket. Immediately upon heading out of Hermosillo, the landscape turned lush and green (reminded us of Costa Rica) and the road became very winding. T
