Carnival

Image
Carnival ended last night and was a ton of fun. It began on the 19th and ran every evening with parades and festivities. The parade on the 19th was called the 'bad humor' parade and after making our way through traffic and standing around waiting, it turned out to be only 2 trucks with 2 kings in each truck. These gents then made their way to the main stage to tell bad jokes. The parade the other nights was more mardi gras themed. These are the same kings from the first night's parade. We wore our costumes and were the only spectators in costume. Many Mexicans wanted their photo taken with us. We took the 'opportunity' to join and walk in the parade ourselves and threw confetti at the other spectators. Of course there was the 'typical' broken down truck during the parade. There were Tecate stands and open bars set up and we had good margaritas. Several stages were set up for bands and people danced the night away on the malecon.

Feels Like Summer

The day time temps have been in the 90s this week with the lows getting only into the 60s. It makes for a beautiful day to take out a friend's yacht and spot Finback whales. If this is a preview of temps this summer, we are in big (and we mean brutally hot but tons of fun) trouble.
