Keeping Ourselves Busy

Image
The days fly by down here and they go even faster when we include additional activities. Shelly and her mom went horseback riding into the desert and then along the beach. The sights were amazing and the horses were gentle. They rode across the airstrip where the movie "Catch-22" was filmed. This is the building that was blown up at the end of the movie. They ate at a 'restaurant' in La Monga which is really a squatters town. Mexicans have built shanty homes right at the coast even though they don't own the land. They have set up 'restaurants' right in their homes serving fresh fish and shell fish that they catch each day. PJ has organized a softball league and has had a great turnout. During the second game there were several injuries (could this be due to our age???) but the game went on. We are playing two times per week and have about 20 people showing up to play. It is all for fun and even with the injuries all are having a good time. Shelly's mom
